Hello friends, I as planning to buy a XBOX 360 controller for my computer.
But will the controller made to work for the XBOX 360 work on a PC or do I have to buy a XBOX 360 controller specifically built for PC. And what extra things will I need? E.g- cables(what kind of cable). And will a wireless controller work or do I need to buy the wired controller? Please help.
any controller can work on a computer wired or wireless if wired just plug it in and download the drivers if wireless you must buy the $15 adapter for it and install the drivers for it then too
Any wired XBOX 360 controller will work fine. You will need to download the drivers from Microsoft, its a quick and easy install, I have done this before and the controller worked great!

Only a Wired Xbox 360 Controller will work when you plug it into your PC.You can download the drivers from many sources including microsoft.
Even though a Xbox 360 Wireless Controller with the USB Charge Pack cable connected DOES get recognized by windows it WILL NOT function without purchasing additional hardware.
