My ps3 is broken. Is it possible to put a motherboard from another ps3 into it?
I have been reliably informed that mine is totally beyond repair, but I have found other faulty ps3’s for sale from about £40. Has anyone got any experience with this? Or any suggestions? Cheers, guys and gals!
I guess it depends on what models you are trying to swap. If you have a non-backward compatible PS3, you need to find a motherboard from another non-backward compatible PS3 (backward compatible motherboards simply won’t work). Also, the Blu-Ray drive & laser assembly is tied to that specific motherboard, so you’ll have to find a motherboard that works with your specific laser assembly model.
To put it simply, if you are gonna swap motherboards, swap with a ps3 that is the exact same model as yours to prevent any potential complications.

How to play music or movies in clubs in ps3 home?
Ok here is the question. I have a club in ps3 home. The club has a tv on top wall. I have also read in yahoo answers that someone had movie playing in club but no sound. So, the question is: is there a way to play movies and music in ps3 home in general and specifically in ps3 home clubs?

Well as you know ALOTTA people had trouble signing in to Home when it was first released so Sony didn’t have anything to do about this other then look into these bugs. So i guess your answer is wait until the server goes down! You can play movies and music if not in your club go to the the Actual Home theater and see whats on offer.

Instructions:
1) Start up the patch blocker that you just downloaded, sometime the IP already there is the same (maybe always?) but just to make sure open up your handy dandy cmd prompt (StartRuncmd)
2) Type in “ipconfig” and find your ip address (192.168.x.x should look like this)
3) Copy that Ip into the patch blocker
4) Go to your PS3 and change the network by using custom and leave everything the same except when you get to proxy, “use proxy” and make the IP the one in your patch blocker, and the port “8080″. DON’T CLICK TEST! *very important*
5) Exit out of this and go to the game data utility and find the Modern warfare 2 file and delete it
6) At this point start up “patch blocker” and start up MW2, *you should have not signed in yet*
7) Go to Online and sign in/load up your stats (make sure they’re loaded)
Go to split screen load up “Hack”, then exit out *you will get an error*
9) Go to Lan Game, then Barracks and Prestige *you will get another error*
10) Go back to Split screen, load up “GSY”, exit out of Split screen
11) Go to “Online” and then Prestige again
12) You should now be 10th Prestige level 1!!! Congrats if you are!
Testing Your New Prestige
1) Exit of of MW2 and change your Network Setting to “no proxy”, download the update and go back online.
2) You should now be 10th prestige (with update!) and can play on!

How come I cant connect my PS3 to my iMac and get an internet connection?
My iMac gets internet through wireless and I want to connect my PS3 to my Mac using a an ethernet cable. So under internet sharing I go "share this computer’s internet connection from Airport, to computers connected by Ethernet. But my PS3 will never connect saying that it is a DNS error. A tips or steps?
To get my ps3 online all I did was use the network settings option in the ps3 settings. First I pressed scan then waited for my network name to come up, selected it then it asks for WPA or another type of encryption mine is WPA so I put it in and there you go I’m online. If you need help finding out what your WPA key is use this program to find it on your imac then type it in to your ps3 when prompted.

The PS3 has Wi-Fi so it does not need to be hardwired and can run off of the router you use for your current network settings you have on your imac unless of course you don’t have a router and its in the imac which in that case I don’t know what to suggest as I don’t know a thing about imacs.
