All players, coaches, and parents do not know what is happening. We worked with the league commissioner to get the kids’ names and access to the field to setup our equipment the morning of the game. He was the only one in on it. NBC Sports worked with us and got us the jumbotron and the blimp.

*Thirty Five Years Ago

The fledgling video game business was struggling to make a name for itself as it competed with toys, playing cards and board games for customers. The early games like Pong, Pac Man and Donkey Kong were very basic in terms of technology, and they had very little creativity involved with their designs and functions. Today, the computer online game industry is a multi billion dollar extravaganza that has progressed increasingly, and it is starting to steal some of the spotlight from the glamorous motion picture industry.

With technological advances like the next generation motion capture systems, high definition graphics, Dolby Sound and Motion Sensor Remote controls that enable the players to actually get up off their chairs and get some exercise as they kick, punch, jump, fish, swing, golf and dance their way through sessions, video games have become more than just toys. They are an escape that offers a whole new reality. Kids and adults alike are playing Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii games more than ever before and the industry itself is getting bigger and bigger every day.

But there is one great advantage that video games have over movies, and that is that they offer interaction. You can actually be involved with what is happening on the screen, instead of just watching it like you do at a theater. This gives you the feeling of empowerment that you just do not get from watching movies. These games offer more than an escape, they offer a journey into another world where your actions have no real negative consequences on yourself.

Video games have come a long way since the days of Pong, Pac Man and Donkey Kong. While the Video Game Awards are not quite the Oscars yet, they are certainly on a pace to give them a run for their money in the future in terms of publicity. Celebrities are starting to notice that the spotlight on Hollywood is being shared by a newcomer to the world of entertainment, and they are following the light, as they do naturally. It is an inevitable natural progression, much like the relationship between a whale and a pilot fish. Big celebrity names are starting to integrate into the computer game industry, and as this happens it only means more publicity for both parties involved. This is ultimately good for gamers too, for as the industry gets bigger and bigger, the games and the consoles will only get better and better.

Recently, many new online gaming services have been introduced. The world is having a visible affect on the online gaming industry, as more and more people turned towards playing and enjoying online games. Games on the Internet were once an imaginary phrase, but since the introduction of thousands of user friendly and easy operating games on the Internet, people are finding that fiction has become reality.

*Chill out and Play Games

One of the best ways the majority of us relax, stay engaged, stave off boredom, or even burn away hours at work is to play games video games, online computer games (if you dont know there are probably a few addictive games in your word program, right?), or online games.

While we now know, too, that when you play games (of any mode and of certain types), those games help to sharpen some of our mental faculties, Alzheimers, and, in my coo-coo world, the insanity of such needful mental aberrations as ADD, ADHD, and OCDthough this last benefit is not necessarily empirically proven. There has been quite a bit of research done on this topic and you can bet there will be a whole lot more to come.

So lets sit back, kick our shoes off, and relax playing your favorit games.

Nintendo offers classic, oldfashioned Mario platform action on a brand new system with Mario Advance. Produced as a launch title for the Game Boy Advance, Super Mario Advance marks the first appearance of the Mario franchise on the 32bit handheld system. The game is based on the classic Super Mario Bros. 2, released for the original Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988. Although characters and gameplay remain true to the original, the cartridge makes use of the increased technical abilities of the handheld Game Boy Advance over 1985′s original 8bit Nintendo console, featuring detailed graphics and animations.

Much of the action in Super Mario Advance concerns lifting items to throw at enemies or carry to a special location. Instead of hopping on a Shy Guy’s head, for example, Mario may need to pull a turnip from the ground and throw it at the enemy to get him out of the way. Often, characters will need to carry a key from one part of the level to another. GBA gamers choose to play as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, or Toad. Each character has a different combination of strength and agility. The Princess can jump very high and float gracefully to the ground, but if she is carrying an item she moves much more slowly and cannot leap as far. Toad can’t jump as far as the others, but he can carry items without any effect on his speed or leaping ability.

Going even further back in the characters’ history, Super Mario Advance also features a multiplayercompatible minigame based on the original Mario Bros. arcade game. Players will have to hop their way to the top of the screen, quickly and carefully, avoiding turtlelike Koopas and other enemies. This enhanced version of the arcade game can be played in “Classic” or “Battle” modes. In all, Nintendo makes an effort to send their best characters ahead to welcome the handheld system to their product line. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

There is something special about the video games of today. The people who enjoy playing them are living in a very exiting time. With the recent releases of Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3 (and Xbox 360 a little while back) the gaming experience has been raised to a whole new level. You know there must be something really exciting about the newly released next generation video game systems if people are willing to camp out in front of stores for a week before their release and then stampede inside the store once they open the doors.

While the hype was substantial leading up to the releases of Nintendo Wii and Sony’s Playstation 3, there is also something to be said for customer satisfaction in these cases. These customers are so happy with what they have already seen in the previous products of these companies that they cannot wait to get their hands on whatever products they are offering next.

The new features that these new systems offer such as Motion-Sensitive Remotes, Online Gaming, Wi-Fi Support and High Definition Game Support have customers fighting to be the first ones to have them. It is doubtful that any of them minded the camping out in front of the store part though, because they probably all had a PSP (Playstation Portable) with them and were playing all the cool PSP downloads they got from the Internet. You can now bring your video games with you where ever you go on the planet.

Sony and Nintendo are now neck and neck in the race for technological dominance of the computer game industry. While Playstation 2 dominated this race for years since it’s debut back in 1995, Xbox 360 came on the scene and became a competitor. Nintendo suddenly vaulted to the front of the race when they recently released their Wii console. This system takes gaming to a whole new level. It has a revolutionary type of motion sensitive remote control that allows the user to get off their seat and actually get some exercise as they punch, swing, kick and dance their way through the games.

Sony released their Playstation 3 console soon after Wii was released and they jumped back to the front of the race with this action along side Nintendo. Wii is selling for a little bit less than Playstation 3 is selling for, and this is a big plus for parents on a budget. However, Sony’s new system has many impressive features of it’s own such as DVD Movie Playback capability and a 60GB hard drive available. These two systems have a little bit of an advantage over Xbox, for it does not have a motion sensitive remote control.

Xbox will eventually have a system that is comparable to these two systems. The main reason that Xbox 360 is still in the game is because they have such a huge selection of games that go with their systems. The Xbox 360 console has 116 games that can be played with it, while Playstation 3 has 41 and Wii has 47 games. It will not be long before a new version of Xbox 360 is released and then the race will have 3 companies running neck and neck at the front.

Playing a video game these days is like stepping into another world and leaving reality behind for a little while. The technology that is involved with the production of these games is definitely on the cutting edge. Things like next generation motion capture, high definition graphics and motion-sensitive remote controls have made today’s video gaming experience nothing less than exhilarating, and to some extent liberating. Your problems disappear once you escape into the world of a video game.

The quality of the graphics, the level of interactivity and the variety of features these spectacular computer games offer these days are like nothing ever seen before. Playing these games is a great way to lose stress and forget about your problems for a little while, even if it is just for twenty minutes during a lunch break. Gameboy and Sony’s PSP units have made it so that you can play games just about anywhere.

It is an exciting time to be a video game player. Technology has advanced to the point where you are no longer just playing the game, but you are actually in the game. If you are the kind of person who just loves to play video games, then you must agree that it is a great time to be alive.

Classic Game Room reviews NASCAR KART RACING from EA Sports for the Nintendo Wii video game console. This cart driving game is ultra-fast and ultra-smooth and ultra-fun for fans of the cartoony, anything goes smash your enemies with dynamite sticks racing genre. Are you bored of all the existing MarioKart Wii racing courses and want to try something new? Whether you’re a Nascar stock car fan or not this game should appeal to you if you’re in the mood for a family friendly outing of competitive Kart racing. It works with the Wii Wheel and instead of magic mushrooms and Mario characters the game is filled with cartoon likenesses of Nascar drivers like Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson Cark Edwards and Matt Kenseth. Drive the DuPont car, Lowe’s race car or (my favorite) the M&M race car! There are also a number of unlockable fictional characters (that players unlock) who would easily win any Wii wet T-Shirt contest. Now… that’s a game idea…. Race on Nascar inspired tracks like Daytona and Talladega. Classic Game Room HD brings you the best in new school and old school retro video game reviews. We are a Wii reviewer reviewing new Wii games from 2009 as well as PS3, Xbox 360 and Atari 2600. Nascar Kart Racing is published by Electronic Arts, Inc. and developed by EA North Carolina.

NOTES: This was produced in January 2006 for game developer DAVID PERRY. It had to be two minutes and thirty seconds long, for an audience of non-gamers, and was to show what games might look like 5 years from now. Thus why some pre-rendered PS3 videos, and cut scenes were used. As for why there is no RPG collection, we thought about starting with Zork text and evolving but realized for a non gamer audience it wouldn’t be easy to quickly explain role playing in a few clips. We will be doing a series of these in the future, check back.

A short trip through the evolution of video games. From pixel to polygons, atari to HD, this is a visual ride through various video game genres as they evolved with new technology and talent from game developers.
The clip was produced for a presentation made by game developer David Perry at the prestigious TED Conference in Marin County. www.ted.com

Many Wii Video Games

The rise of Wii video games has come full circle. Where as consoles like PS3 and Xbox have been having success on the internet and abroad, the Wii is now making way to the top of the video game mountain. Many see it as a Christmas boost, but others say it is the fact that it just took a little while for Wii video games to catch on. The different Wii style of play definitly has left gamers interested, but most already own the PS3 and/or Xbox. So the rise of the Wii, although slow, has become more steady than ever. Downloading Wii video games is now as easy as ever. Many sites are now completely dedicated to providing Wii video games and Wii media downloads.

For those that are interested in downloading Wii video games, there are some things to keep in mind. 1st of all, not all download sites are created equal. Some that offer free downloads are just scams that suck you in to there site. They get your email address and then bombard you with emails trying to sell you everything under the sun. You might be able to download a game, but most times its just a trial or sample of the game. Or even worse it could be infected with a virus or spyware. These sites are very tricky, and rarely is anything free. What you should watch out for are sites that affer no references and no support. The best Wii video game sites have 24 hour support. That support is vital for helping you with downloads and answering questions about games and other Wii media. The support also checks the Wii video games for bugs and viruses, insuring you that all your downloads are safe and free of spyware and adware.

Another type of site that you should look out for, is the site that just looks bad. Often a plain looking site that has a long list of Wii video games with no pictures and no testimonials. You want to see that other gamers have actually downloaded from the site. There should be demonstrations of what the downloading process is like. Wii download sites are sites that will offer you access to a database of Wii video games. So therefore, the site should offer you software that makes downloading the wii games safe and easy. Sites that dont are not real Wii download sites. There are so many Wii video games , that a site not offering download software, is most likely a scam. So steer clear.

Look for a Money Back Guarantee. At least 30 days. These days , if a company is offering downloads, they always offer a Money Back Guarantee. As a rule of thumb, you never buy anything from the net that does not offer a guarantee. Its just a sign of quality. Most sites wont offer a guarantee if the product is bad. And that definitely goes for Wii video games.

And lastly, look for other types of Wii downloads and never pay a monthly fee. The best Wii download sites offer not only Wii video games, but Movies , Music , T.V., and more. With so many Wii downloads, it just makes sense that quality sites offer the complete package. And not for a monthly fee. I have seen some awesome download sites accross the web, and although some offer a cheap monthly plan, the best offer a 1 time payment with free upgrades for life.

And thats about it. If you follow these tips, you will undoubtedly find that downloading Wii video games is all about having the most fun possible and playing all the newest Wii games can be safe and easy. Check below for a link to the best Wii download sites available.
